Psychological services for older adults
I believe that no matter your age, talking to someone can help
I work with my clients to adjust to common life transitions faced by older adults including cognitive changes, caregiving, retirement, grief, loss, and others. My approach is active and problem-solving focused, using techniques supported by research.
I provide licensed psychotherapy via secure video in California
My services
I provide psychotherapy as a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California (PSY34922). All services are currently virtual via secure video.
Therapy sessions are between 45 and 60 minutes and duration of therapy differs from person to person.
I have specialty training working with people who have: been diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease, are transitioning into the caregiver role, or are adjusting to other life events like retirement, loss of identity, or grief.
Some clients may choose to meet only once or twice for help understanding and processing their recent health diagnosis or to work on concrete cognitive strategies to improve their day-to-day life. For example, following an assessment I can help explain the results of the assessment in a clear, concise way that is focused on the goals of all parties involved.
Other clients may choose to meet for a longer period of time and dive deep into their emotional, cognitive, and physical needs, making an action plan to address their transition while practicing patience and acceptance while that plan takes root.
